Fully Charged and Ready To Go

For a bit of a birthday present, Katie took me to Fully Charged Live in Silverstone; one of the biggest electric car events in the world. As Patreon supporters we were able to get early access passes. The event itself was incredible, we saw a number of presentations and as one of the biggest EV channels on YouTube, it was great to see all of the presenters on stage.

There were many trade stands from a full range of businesses ranging from providers of renewable energy solutions to EV conversion companies. We spoke with several of these businesses about converting a Figaro to electric including Electric Classic Cars, New Electric and Zero EV.

It was great to see the incredible conversions they had on show, from classic beetles to modern supercars. We spent some time chatting with Richard Mawby about his fantastic Reva G-Wiz, an original EV which had been upgraded with a bigger charger and a battery made out of recycled laptop batteries. One car which stood out was Damien Maguire's BMW E31 which some people may know by its more common name "Der Panzer". To cap off the event Robert Llewellyn introduced Craig Charles who took to the decks for some excellent funk and soul and with a surprise appearance from Danny John-Jules: 3/4 of the Red Dwarf crew!
